Enhanced stability of a rigid polyurethane foam

2015-02-04 03:29:16 1985
Studied glass bubble enhanced preparation, microstructure rigid polyurethane foam, compression performance and thermal stability. The results showed that: when the glass bubble content of 10%, the compressive strength of the foam and enhance the compression modulus reaches the maximum; compression strength and compression glass bubble through a silane coupling agent surface-treated reinforced foam modulus increase amplitude larger, initial decomposition temperature and the peak decomposition temperature there is a certain degree of improvement. SEM, XPS and EDS analysis showed: increased foam cell density increases, the cell diameter smaller surface between the glass bubble and resin matrix interfacial bonding in good condition, glass microspheres are uniformly dispersed in a resin matrix. These factors are causes of glass bubble enhanced compression performance and thermal stability of the foam with a large improvement.
Rigid polyurethane foam (PUR) is used as the structural material and heat insulating material applications, often need to further enhance its compression performance and thermal stability. Generally there are three ways to improve the compression performance, they are: 1. Fiber reinforced; 2. Particle enhancements such as CaCO3 and glass microspheres, etc; 3.Reinforced; by the addition of an inorganic filler to improve the method of its thermal stability. Currently, glass fiber reinforced rigid polyurethane foam, the compressive strength of the material at the same time increase, will increase the density of the material, and the preparation process is difficult to control; glass microspheres is a novel inorganic filler, the polymeric material has been applied in large quantities system. It has the prototype structure, isotropic, miscible with the resin; hollow glass microspheres, having insulation properties, low density, while improving the material properties of the compression, almost without increasing the density of the material.
Through a series of experiments can be obtained on the glass bubble reinforced rigid polyurethane foam compressive properties and thermal stability to a certain extent, in some applications can take advantage of this result, to obtain greater efficiency.
